| Abstract: | Cílem této práce je analyzovat vztah mezi dálkovou leteckou konektivitou a ekonomickou atraktivitou regionu na příkladu srovnání Letiště Václava Havla Praha a Letiště Chopina Varšava v období 2022–2024. Práce porovnává obě letiště z hlediska počtu přímých dálkových destinací, frekvence spojů, sezónnosti provozu a geografického pokrytí mimoevropských trhů a zkoumá souvislosti s vybranými ekonomickými ukazateli. Výsledky ukazují, že Varšava měla ve sledovaném období širší a stabilnější síť dálkových spojení než Praha, což souviselo i s její silnější hubovou funkcí. Práce dochází k závěru, že vyšší úroveň dálkové konektivity může přispívat k větší ekonomické internacionalizaci regionu, ale tento vztah nelze chápat jako jednoznačně příčinný. |

| Abstract: | The aim of this thesis is to analyse the relationship between long-haul air connectivity and the economic attractiveness of a region through a comparison of Václav Havel Airport Prague and Warsaw Chopin Airport in the period 2022–2024. The thesis compares both airports in terms of the number of direct long-haul destinations, flight frequency, seasonality of operations, and the geographical coverage of non-European markets, and examines their relationship with selected economic indicators. The results show that Warsaw had a broader and more stable network of long-haul connections than Prague during the observed period, which was also related to its stronger hub function. The thesis concludes that a higher level of long-haul connectivity may contribute to a greater degree of regional economic internationalisation; however, this relationship cannot be understood as unambiguously causal. |
