Diplomová práce se zabývá zkoumáním faktorů brain drainu v Mexiku v období 2014 - 2024 se zaměřením na absolventy magisterských a doktorských programů odcházejících do zahraničí za účelem pracovního uplatnění a profesního rozvoje. Cílem práce je identifikovat hlavní příčiny tohoto jevu a analyzovat, které faktory nejvíce ovlivňují rozhodnutí kvalifikovaných Mexičanů opustit zemi. Teoretická část vychází z teorie push a pull faktorů. Analytická část kombinuje kvalitativní výzkum formou hloubkových rozhovorů s respondenty, kteří odešli z Mexika do Evropy, a analýzu sekundárních statistických dat z OECD, Světové banky a dalších mezinárodních institucí. Výzkum ukazuje, že brain drain není způsoben pouze ekonomickými faktory, jako jsou například nízké mzdy, ale významnou roli hrají také bezpečnostní situace v zemi a institucionální nestabilita. Výrazným motivem k odchodu je rovněž vyšší kvalita života a transparentnější pracovní prostředí. |

| Abstract: |
This diploma thesis examines the factors behind brain drain in Mexico during the period 2014–2024, with a focus on graduates of master’s and doctoral programs migrating abroad for employment and professional development purposes. The aim of the thesis is to identify the main causes of this phenomenon and to analyze which factors most significantly influence the decision of qualified Mexicans to leave the country. The theoretical framework is based on push and pull factor theory. The analytical part combines qualitative research in the form of in‑depth interviews with respondents who migrated from Mexico to Europe, along with an analysis of secondary statistical data from the OECD, the World Bank, and other international institutions. The findings indicate that brain drain is not driven solely by economic factors such as low wages; security conditions within the country and institutional instability also play a significant role. Higher quality of life and a more transparent working environment are likewise identified as key motivations for emigration. |
