Patient Satisfaction with Care in Fertility Clinics in the Czech Republic: Factors Influencing Patient Experience

This master’s thesis focuses on patient experience in fertility clinics in the Czech Republic and on the factors influencing patient satisfaction. The theoretical part is based on the concepts of patient-centered care and patient experience and includes a comparison with selected instruments for assessing healthcare quality. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate patients’ perceptions of care and to identify the factors influencing their satisfaction and overall experience with the provided care.The empirical part is based on a quantitative questionnaire survey conducted among patients who underwent IVF treatment in the Czech Republic within the last 24 months. The questionnaire was based on the structure of validated instruments (QPP-IVF and FertiQoL) and was distributed online. The collected data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation analysis, t-tests, and analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that interpersonal aspects of care, particularly the empathy of healthcare staff and the quality of communication, have the most significant impact on overall patient satisfaction. Perceived psychological support also played an important role, while the number of IVF cycles undergone and patients’ level of education were not found to be statistically significant factors.The thesis contributes to a deeper understanding of the factors influencing patient satisfaction in the field of assisted reproduction and highlights the importance of a comprehensive approach to healthcare quality, encompassing not only clinical outcomes but also patients’ subjective experiences.
