| Abstrakt: | Tato diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou významu metadat v oblasti Business Intelligence a jejich prezentace směrem k možným uživatelům. Jejím hlavním cílem je připravit a popsat podklady pro vytvoření informačního portálu, kterým chce společnost NESS Czech s.r.o. obohatit svoji nabídku služeb v oblasti BI. Navrhovaný portál by měl umožnit uživatelsky příjemnou prezentaci metadat z různých CASE nástrojů prostřednictvím webové stránky. Stanovený hlavní cíl bude naplněn navržením fyzického datového modelu, který bude sloužit jako mezivrstva mezi zdrojem metadat a informačním portálem, a zajistí univerzálnost informačního portálu ve smyslu jeho schopnosti zobrazovat metadata z různých zdrojů. Dále budou navrženy také transformace, kterými bude možné plnit do portálu data, a wireframy webové stránky. Teoretická část práce jednak představuje čtenáři problematiku Business Intelligence a jednak se také zabývá významem metadat, jejich možnou klasifikací a také jejich významem z pohledu BI. Popsány jsou zde také CASE nástroje, neboť právě ony jsou významným zdrojem metadat. Konkrétním zástupcem těchto nástrojů, jenž je v práci blíže charakterizován, je Enterprise Architect společnosti Sparx Systems, který bude následně v praktické části práce sloužit jako východisko pro navržení datového modelu. Dále je zde představen i BI portál Encyclopaedia společnosti Semanta jako zajímavý příklad již existujícího portálu, v němž je prezentován obsah datového skladu a dalších komponent BI řešení. V praktické části práce je představena společnost NESS Czech s.r.o. a její požadavky na informační portál, jenž je předmětem této práce. Následně je provedena analýza databáze nástroje Enterprise Architect, na jejímž základě je navržen datový model mezivrstvy informačního portálu a jeho plnicí transformace. Na závěr je pak prostřednictvím několika uživatelských případů užití ilustrováno možné využití dat nahraných do mezivrstvy. |

| Abstrakt: | The present thesis discusses the significance of metadata in the field of Business Intelligence and its presentation to any possible user. The main aim is to prepare and describe the foundations for developing an information portal which would enable NESS Czech Ltd. to provide improved services in the area of BI. The designed portal should also allow a user-friendly presentation of metadata from various CASE tools through a web page. The main goal will be achieved by designing a physical-data model which will serve as an interlayer between the data source and the information portal, and will ensure the universality of the information portal in that it will be able to present metadata from various data sources. It is also necessary to design transformations which will be used to fill the interlayer with data and wireframes of the web site. The theoretical part of the thesis introduces to the reader the field of Business Intelligence and also discusses the general significance of metadata, its possible classification and its particular significance in the field of BI. CASE tools are also described because it is precisely the tools that are a significant source of metadata. A concrete example of these tools is described in detail in the thesis - Enterprise Architect by Sparx Systems. It will subsequently serve as a base for designing the physical-data model in the practical part of the thesis. Next, a BI portal developed by Semanta called Encyclopaedia is introduced which is an interesting example of an already existing portal that presents the contents of a data warehouse and other BI components The practical part introduces NESS Czech Ltd. and their requirements for the information portal. Next, an analysis of Enterprise Architect is performed as a foundation for the data model of the interlayer and its filling transformations. Finally, a few use cases are employed to illustrate the possible application of the portal and its data. |
