The aim was to compare the income of Czech mother with mothers in selected countries in a situation when mother starts part-time job while still claiming her parental leave, namely in year 2017. The thesis describes the conditions of parental leave and part-time job for all selected countries and assembles model cases to compare their functioning and total maternal income situation. When comparing the income situation of mothers in all countries, the highest income had mother in Sweden. The mother in the Czech Republic has reached the third highest income in the compared countries in 2017, despite the complications regarding the limited time of childcare while at work. Both Sweden and the UK opt for a significantly different procedure of providing support to mothers with small children, yet women's labor market participation in both countries is high. Germany is characterized by a high female / mother's involvement in the labor market, but their parental leave setting is much more similar to Czech one that of to any other selected countries. |
