Komparace financování sportu v České republice s Rakouskou republikou v období 2018 - 2022

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of financing of sport in the Czech Republic and the neighboring state of the Republic of Austria in the selected period 2018-2022. The aim of the thesis is to compare both financing systems regarding their structure of sport organization. In the theoretical part, the methods of description and literature search are used. It defines the basic concepts related to the topic, in particular public and private sources and the system of financing sport in the Czech and Austrian Republic. This part will also offer a description of sport as an economic good, a definition of externalities in sport and a look into the history of sport and common features of both countries. In the practical part, methods of analysis and comparison are used. The data for analysis and comparison are mainly taken from official documents of individual sports organizations and government institutions. The organizational structure of sport and its main umbrella organizations are described in detail. It then evaluates and analyses the issue based on the data. It also focuses on the newly established organization in the Czech Republic, the National Sports Agency, which has taken over all subsidy policy from the Ministry of Education. In the Republic of Austria, the existing organization Bundes-Sport GmbH and the newly established Federal Ministry for Arts, Culture, Public Administration and Sport are described in more detail. The emerging EU concepts and policies play a major role for the future of sport promotion in both countries. Finally, the thesis recommends, based on the comparison, concrete steps in the field of sport financing in the Czech Republic.
