Design and implementation of interactive dashboard for Responsible Gaming project using Power BI

The aim of this thesis is to design, implement and evaluate efficiency of an automated interactive dashboard in Power BI for day-to-day use for the Responsible Gaming project leadership team in a big international betting and gaming company Fortuna Entertainment Group. The dashboard will contain all key data in one place and would provide a clear overview of risky players statistics in order to improve and speed up decision-making process for project managers. As parts of the main objective, three additional goals are being set. First goal is to identify and describe the current state of reporting for the Responsible Gaming project. Second goal is to conduct analysis of the Responsible Gaming project team needs for the dashboard. The third goal is to assess the practical impact of the new solution. The first part of the thesis involved establishing requirements and limitations of the work, along with outlining the expected benefits of it. This is followed by a literature review, which involves stating the research questions for the purpose to create a solid foundation for achieving the main objective of this work. An analysis of the theoretical background of the work includes a discussion on various types of dashboards, an introduction to Power BI, and an examination of various visualisation techniques. Then, the methodology applied to this work is selected and described. The second part of the thesis is devoted to the dashboard design and implementation in a company. It involves a case study that evaluates the existing Business Intelligence solution within the company, the data sources in use, the current state of reporting and user requirements for the dashboard. The dashboard is being implemented in three phases. In the final stages of the thesis, the dashboard is evaluated by end-users and suggestions for potential improvements are discussed. The work is concluded with an evaluation of the results of the thesis and the validation of the final artifact.
