Whistleblowing a ochrana oznamovatelů v zemích Visegradské čtyřky

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of whistleblowing and the transposition of the EU directive on the protection of whistleblowers. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the success of the implementation of the EU directive on whistleblowing in the individual countries of the Visegrad Four and to suggest proposals and recommendations for the V4 countries that can contribute to the improvement of the implementation of the directive. The first part of the thesis contains definition of whistleblowing and the protection of whistleblowers, general awareness of whistleblowing and its connections with corruption. The second chapter deals with the protection of whistleblowers according to the EU directive and explains the reasons for the creation of this legislation, the scope of the directive and the areas it affects, such as public procurement and financial services. The third part of the thesis focuses on the issue of the implementation of the EU directive in the individual member countries of the Visegrad Group, i.e. in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary and Slovakia. As a conclusion, the knowledge resulting from the comparison is summarized and contains specific proposals and recommendations, which will lead to the improvement of the implementation of the European Union directive on whistleblowing.
