| Abstrakt: | Vztah mezi investovanými finančními prostředky a schopností dosáhnout ve sportovním prostředí úspěchu je obecně známý. Ve světě profesionálního fotbalu tento vztah platí také. Již delší dobu se skloňuje nadvláda nejvyšší anglické fotbalové soutěže Premier League a jejich elitních klubů, co se týká jejich finančních možností. Je ovšem otázka, co konkrétně za touto nadvládou stojí a zda rozdíly v bohatství napříč jednotlivými anglickými fotbalovými kluby jsou skutečně hlavním faktorem pro úspěch a neúspěch. Zahraniční investoři v elitních klubech Premier League nastolili po svém příchodu trend vysokých investic, které mají za cíl navýšení kvality mužstva a následné dosažení sportovních úspěchů. V rámci této práce je sledován vztah mezi investiční aktivitou zahraničních investorů na přestupovém trhu s fotbalovými hráči a schopností dosáhnout vybraných sportovních úspěchů, které jsou v této práci sledovány. Pozornost je upřena především na pětici elitních klubů Premier League, které se mezi sezónami 2003/2004 až 2021/2022 dokázaly v nejvyšší anglické fotbalové soutěži umístit nejčastěji na prvních čtyřech místech ligové tabulky, což představuje předpoklad pro jejich účinkování v dalších evropských fotbalových soutěžích. |

| Abstrakt: | The correlation between invested funds and the ability to succeed in a sporting environment is well known. In the world of professional football, this relationship is also acknowledged. For a long period of time, the supremacy of the top tier English football competition, the Premier League, and its elite clubs when it comes to their financial capabilities has been a matter of debate. However, the question is what exactly is the reason behind this supremacy and whether the differences in financial capabilities across the individual English football clubs is really the main factor for success and failure. Foreign investors in the elite Premier League clubs have set a trend of high investment since their arrival, with the aim of increasing squad quality and then achieving sporting success. The relationship between foreign investors' investment activity in the football transfer market and the ability to achieve selected sporting successes is observed in this thesis. In particular, the main focus is on the five elite Premier League clubs that have managed to finish in the top four places of the league table in the top tier English football competition between the 2003/2004 and 2021/2022 seasons, which is a prerequisite for their participation in other European football competitions. |
