Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá aplikací teorie her na situaci pokutového kopu v kopané. Cílem práce je formulovat model pokutového kopu jako strategickou hru dvou hráčů s nulovým součtem, sestavit výplatní matice na základně reálných dat, následně určit optimální strategie střelců i brankářů pomocí smíšených strategií a Nashovy rovnováhy. Výzkum je založen na datech z anglické nejvyšší soutěže (Premier League) za období dvou a půl sezóny, kde byla analyzována pravděpodobnost úspěšnosti střel v závislosti na střely a pohybu brankáře. V rámci práce byla provedena jak obecná analýza, tak i podrobnější v závislosti na různých faktorech. Modely byly řešeny pomocí metod lineárního programování. Výsledky ukazují, že chování hráčů při pokutových kopech je do značné míry konzistentní s teoretickými předpověďmi teorie her a že použití smíšených strategií přispívá k optimalizaci jejich rozhodování.

Abstrakt:
This bachelor thesis deals with the application of game theory to the situation of penalty kicks in football. The aim of the thesis is to formulate a model of penalty kick as a strategic two-player zero-sum game, construct payoff matrices based on real data, and then determine the optimal strategies of the scorers and goalkeepers using mixed strategies and Nash equilibrium. The research is based on data from the English top league (Premier League) over a period of two and a half seasons, where the probability of shot success as a function of shot and goalkeeper movement was analysed. Both a general analysis and a more detailed analysis depending on different factors were performed. The models were solved using linear programming methods. The results show that the players behaviour during penalty kicks is largely consistent with theoretical predictions of game theory and that the use of mixed strategies contributes to the optimization of their decision making.
