This study examines the key factors influencing Czech automotive consumers' decisions between electric vehicles (EVs) and combustion-engine vehicles, employing a mixed-methods approach. Quantitative analysis, using an econometric model based on survey data, reveals that Perceived Usefulness (PU) has the strongest explanatory power regarding EV purchase intent, while no significant association was found with Perceived Ease of Use (PEOU). Additionally, consumers showed minimal price preference between EVs and combustion vehicles. Qualitative thematic analysis of interviews identified further decision-making factors, including build quality, privacy, and nationalism. The study recommends further research into these qualitative findings and among other steps, suggests improved government communication on the environmental impacts of EVs compared to combustion-engine vehicles.
