Hlavní cílem práce je najít geografické determinanty kapitálové struktury a kvantifikovat jejich sílu. Nejdříve je však v práci věnován prostor pojednání ohledně samotné existence těchto determinantů. Po tomto závěru následuje kvantitativní regresní analýza, jejíž výsledkem je stanovení zmíněných determinantů pro různé regiony i úrovně vyspělosti. Výsledky z kvantitativní analýzy jsou dále použity k nalezení největší investiční příležitosti, a to na základě rozdílů modelových a skutečných hodnot vybraných parametrů. Poslední fázi práce tvoří samostatná hlubší analýza vybrané příležitosti, kterou je Mexiko. Tento dodatečný průzkum slouží k ověření toho, zdali má regresní analýza této práce nějakou relevanci.

Abstrakt:
The main objective of this thesis is to identify geographical determinants of capital structure and quantify them. First part consists of the theoretical basis for the existence of such determinants. After theory a regression analysis is conducted in order to find valid determinants across regions and levels of economic development. The results of the analysis will be used to identify the biggest investment opportunities by defining biggest discrepancies between model-based and actual values of selected parameters. Last but not least, a deeper analysis of the discovered potential investment opportunity, which is Mexico. The main purpose of this further investigation shall be to verify the validity of the regression model.
