| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce analyzuje Tureckou republiku z hlediska jejího možného členství v Evropské unii. V první části se objektivně zaměřuje na výhody a nevýhody, které vyplývají z tohoto členství. Další část pak detailně shrnuje stav plnění politického kritéria z Kodaňských kritérií. Je zde brán zřetel na stav demokracie v zemi, na dodržování lidských práv a práv menšin. Zmíněn je také dlouhotrvající spor o rozdělený Kypr na řeckou a tureckou část. |

| Abstract: | This thesis analyses the Turkish Republic with a view to its possible membership in European Union. The first section focuses on advantages and disadvantages resulting from this membership. Next section summarizes the degree of fulfilment of the political criteria of the Copenhagen criteria. The chapter is focusing principally on the level of democracy, complying with the human right and the rights of minorities. The dispute about splitted Cyprus is also mentioned. |
