| Abstract: | Cílem této diplomové práce je objasnit, z jakého důvodu Evropská unie považuje právě inovace, výzkum a vývoj za prostředek ke zvýšení své konkurenceschopnosti, zmapovat, jakým způsobem je tato oblast podporována, zjistit, zda toto úsilí v současnosti nepolevuje v důsledku celosvětové hospodářské a finanční krize, zhodnotit, jak se vyvíjené úsilí Evropské unie zúročuje v podobě růstu její konkurenceschopnosti, a odhalit, v jakých oblastech se dosud projevují nedostatky a navrhnout, jaké kroky by měla Evropská unie podniknout, aby tyto nedostatky odstranila. |

| Abstract: | The purpose of this diploma thesis is to explain why the European Union considers innovation, research and development as the engine for increasing its competitiveness, to find out how this area is supported by the European Union, discover if these efforts persist despite of the economic crisis, evaluate how these effots help to rise its competitiveness, analyze in what areas the failurs persist and propose measures that would help improve European Union's performance. |
