Analysis and design of an application for operating cash flow management

This thesis focuses on design of an application which shall provide its user and easy view on predicted cash flow from operating activities on the basis of data extracted from an ac-counting system. The thesis has several goals. First, analyze literature in operating cash flow, identify competition and summarize functions of applications for cash flow analysis. Secondly, identify requirements of a selected organization, which is K-net Technical Inter-national Group, s.r.o., and evaluate the benefits of custom application development. Third, design and develop application complying with requirements of the organization. Fourth, identify bottlenecks arising from custom application development and operation. These aims were achieved by thorough analysis of existing literature, as well as by system-atic work while using partly online and partly printed sources for the practical part of work and by continuous consultation of application functionality with the company. The first part is devoted to literature research and the definition of operating cash flow. Next part is the analysis of application requirements, and market evaluation. Following is the design and implementation of the application in Microsoft Office Excel. The last part deals with the identification of bottlenecks in custom application development compared to buying a third party solution. In conclusion, there is evaluated fulfillment of objectives, the contributions of thesis and also made proposals to expand. The contribution of this work is the analysis of the area of operating cash flow. Another benefit is the research of currently available solutions on the market. The most important contribution of this work is then the custom development of the application that meets all the requirements specified when entering work by the client.
