Abstract: | The dissertation summarizes the information regarding the Caribbean region that is not much known in the Czech Republic. The dissertation describes Caribbean countries and initiatives, its interconnections, historical ties with USA and European countries. It summarizes the current situation in the science and research field in the Czech Republic, EU and the Caribbean and offers the possibilities to develop the cooperation between the Czech Republic and institutions that form the science and technology infrastructure in the Caribbean and the neighbouring countries (CAC region). The possibilities of small island Caribbean states can be improved with their cooperation with Central American countries. In the CAC region many EU institutions and companies successfully develop their activities. It can be suggested that also Czech institutions and companies can have success there. |
