How much do New Year's resolutions increase a fitness center's attendance?

| Abstract: | Cílem práce bylo změřit vliv novoročních předsevzetí na návštěvnost ve fitness centru. Na datech o denní návštěvnosti a slevových akcí z fitness centra Hany Bany ve Zlíně v kombinaci s daty o počasí, informacemi o dnech v týdnu, státních svátcích a ročních období, jsem provedl odhad modelu pomocí metody nejmenších čtverců. Výsledky prokazují nárůst návštěvnosti v období novoročních předsevzetí. Maximální možný nárůst návštěvnosti byl odhadnut pro období mezi 30. a 40. dnem, kdy byl nárůst o 40,1% ceteris paribus. Souhrnně se pak ukázalo, že za 50ti denní období předsevzetí dochází k nárůstu návštěvnosti o 15,6% ceteris paribus. |

| Abstract: | Aim of this thesis was measuring of effect of New Year's resolutions on attendance in fitness centre. I did estimation of model with ordinary least squares method on data of daily attendance and discounts from fitness centre Hany Bany in Zlín in combination with data of weather, information about days in week, national holidays and annual periods. Results yield increase of attendance in New Year's resolution period. Highest possible growth of attendance was estimated for period between 30th and 40th day of year when it was 40,1% ceteris paribus. Collectively results yield that in period of first 50 days attendance growth is equal to 15,6% ceteris paribus. |
