Management of the Patient Diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorders

The diploma thesis is focused on the management of patient with a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. The aim of this work is to diagnose autistic spectrum disorder, identify and quantify the costs of a particular patient by using the Cost of Illness method. The method quantifies the costs paid by the health insurance company and the particular patient suffering from autism spectrum defects within three years of determining his diagnosis. Finally the thesis evaluates the level of parents' awareness of children with autism on questions of autistic spectrum disorders through a questionnaire survey. The output of this work is the quantification of the direct costs of the health insurance company and the personal costs of the patient associated with the diagnosis and treatment of autism. Other output is a survey in the form of a questionnaire which was designed for parents of children with autism spectrum disorders.
