Abstract:
Odhadnutá hodnota volatility potom bude využita k výpočtu Value at Risk, kde by měla nalézt uplatnění díky zpřesnění odhadu podstoupeného rizika pro investory.

Abstract:
The target of this thesis is to test the option of utilizing models without constant variance when modelling the volatility of market indices. We will use DCC GARCH, an even more robust method enabling us to adapt to time variability of correlation between world markets. As these correlations were shown to be non-constant, we should use these complex models. Their usefulness will be examined by the comparison to EWMA, a benchmark method. The estimated volatility will then be used to calculate Value at Risk. That should lead to its utilization by creating better estimates of investors‘ risk exposure.
