Investment climate in Russia in energy and agricultural sectors from the perspective of opportunities for foreign direct investment

The thesis is aimed at presenting and analyzing the investment climate in Russia using SWOT analysis. It highlights the investment opportunities presented in Russia, advantages for foreign investors and compares them to the existing shortcomings and threats. The first part of the thesis concentrates on characterizing the agricultural sector in Russia, covering topics from macroeconomic indicators and production volumes to business environment and trade. The second part examines closely the investment clime in the agricultural sector, using the SWOT analysis, aiming attention at policy developments, prices of factors of production and new market opportunities. Following that, the third part describes the energy sector in Russia and, finally, the last part of the thesis analyzes the investment climate in the energy sector, outlining the major opportunities and aiming precise attention at the risks associated with investing into the energy sector.
