Post production in digital photography: Retouching skin while retaining skin texture and implementing the effect of elements

This thesis concentrates on the photography postproduction, namely photo retouching. It focuses on portrait retouching and adding special effect into photographs using Photoshop.The goal of this paper is to name and thoroughly describe some of the methods used in retouching in a way that will be undestandable to a reader without a great knowledge of Photoshop.In the introduction, we’ll explain what retouching is in general and then we’ll go through the process of rerouching certain parts of the photograph – namely skin, eyes, lips and hair. We’ll also show the reader how to shape the body and the face in a photograph, all in a nondestructive way, so we can always take a few steps back in our postproduction process without losing the quality of the original photograph.In the last section we’ll show how to add special effects into photograph without it seeming unnatural and „flat“. Except the generally recognised methods, We’ll show some of the methods that we personally invented during my work with photography, that make the use of the already availible Photoshop features easier.
