| Abstract: | Bakalářská práce analyzuje vztah mezi délkou pracovní doby a mírou sebevražednosti ve státech Evropské unie na datech z databází Eurostatu a WHO, datovaných k roku 2014. Do tří modelů (model celkově pro muže a ženy, model pro muže a model pro ženy) odhadnutých v softwaru R za pomoci metody nejmenších čtverců jsou zahrnuty následující proměnné: míra sebevražednosti (vysvětlovaná), průměrná délka pracovní doby, nezaměstnanost, HDP, průměrná mzda, Giniho koeficient, rozvodovost, podíl kuřáků v populaci a spotřeba alkoholu. Vliv délky pracovní doby byl významný pouze pro muže. Spotřeba alkoholu měla významný vliv ve všech případech. |

| Abstract: | This thesis analyses the relationship between the length of working hours and the suicide rate in the states of the European Union based on data from Eurostat and the WHO, dated by the year 2014. In the three different models (a model for men and women in total, a model for men and a model for women), assessed in R with the method of the ordinary least squares, are included the following variables: the suicide rate (dependent variable), the average working hours, the unemployment rate, GDP, average hourly wage, Gini coefficient, the divorce rate, the share of smokers in the population and the rate of alcohol consumption. The impact of the length of working hours was significant for men only. The rate of alcohol consumption was significant in all models. |
