Multi-criteria analysis of the agricultural sector of the member states of the European Union

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate an effectivity of agriculture segment of European Union’s members using multi–criteria evaluation of alternatives methods. We research years 2007 and 2016. An extra attention is paid to the results of second observed year and the progression of the new member countries. Legislators deal with agriculture on a level of separate countries but also as a whole on a level of European Union, which tries to influence the agriculture using a Common Agricultural Policy. One part of this thesis describes its goals, budget and indicators, which measure the effectivity of this policy. There were eleven criteria established based on this policy, that represent many points of view on agriculture segment effectivity. To align all the member countries according to their achieved values in these criteria three methods of multi–criteria decision making were used. All three of them are based on different computational principles – ORESTE, WSA and TOPSIS. There is fourth method used on top of that, ELECTRE I, which divides alternatives to the effective and not effective ones. This thesis chooses countries, that have the best results in agriculture and should be an example for the rest of them.
