| Abstract: | This thesis is oriented on intellectual property rights protection within the pharmaceutical industry and it´s strategic implications for MNCs as well as international public and national pro-developmental goals.Thesis aims to explore the limitations of intellectual property management practices in the context of legal-based strategies facilitating the optimization of drug life cycle. To reach to goal, thesis presents reader with analysis of patent profile of chosen drugs from the WHO List of essential medicines and different policy approaches executed by chosen jurisdictions- India, Brazil and Europe, which are presented within comparative framework and scrunitized accross distinct policy categories. |

| Abstract: | Tato diplomová práce se zabývá duševním vlastnictvím v farmaceutickém odvětví a jejich strategické využití pro nadnárodní farmaceutické společnosti, stejně jako mezinárodní a veřejné rozvojové cíle. Cílem práce je analýza patentoých strategií založených na využívání právních nástrojů, které vedou k optimalizaci životního cyklu patentovaných léků.K dosazení tohoto cíle jsou v diplomové práci analyzovány patenty vztahující se k zvoleným lékům, které byly vybrané dle Who seznam esenciálních léčiv a pro porovnání rozdilnych mezinárodních právních metodik se diplomová práce zaměřuje na Indii, Brazílii a Evropu. |
