Abstract: | The aim of this thesis is to analyse the impact of increasing minimum wage on the level of unemployment in Czech Republic of selected groups with different levels of obtained education. The theoretical part presents characteristics of the minimum wage, its historical development, models dealing with minimum wage and selected empirical studies. In the analytical part I try to verify this relation with linear regression models. The results show no statistically significant impact of minimum wage for all test groups, what prove to be significant was the growth rate of GDP with negative impact on level of unemployment. The hypothesis: „Minimum wage has negative impact on the level of unemployment“ was not confirmed in any of the test groups. |
