| Abstract: | Diplomová práce hodnotí trendy v problematice novodobého otroctví v Brazílii. Práce se zaměřuje na kávový průmysl a plnění národních a mezinárodních závazků v této oblasti v souvislosti s Cílem udržitelného rozvoje číslo osm. Práce se věnuje obecnému kontextu tématu v souvislosti s lidskými právy a Agendou 2030 a teoretickému základu novodobého otroctví. Analytická část je zaměřena na zhodnocení trendů v plnění vybraných národních a mezinárodních závazků v oblasti novodobého otroctví a predikce jejich vývoje do roku 2030, v kontextu Cílů udržitelného rozvoje. Závěry práce přicházejí s poznatky, že Brazílie využívá jasné nástroje, které významně přispívají k úspěšnému boji s dětskou prací, obchodováním s lidmi a nucenou prací v nadnárodních korporacích, nicméně zaznamenaný pokrok probíhá v pomalejším tempu, než by bylo pro naplnění SDG 8 potřebné, navíc je tento pokrok značně zpomalen probíhající pandemií COVID-19. |

| Abstract: | The diploma thesis evaluates trends in the issue of modern slavery in Brazil. The thesis focuses on the coffee industry and the fulfillment of national and international obligations in this area in connection with the Sustainable Development Goal number eight. The thesis deals with the general context of the topic in connection with human rights and the 2030 Agenda and the theoretical basis of modern slavery. The analytical part is focused on the evaluation of trends in the fulfillment of selected national and international commitments in the field of modern slavery, in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals. The findings conclude that Brazil uses clear tools that make significant contribution to the successful fight against child labor, human trafficking and forced labor in multinational corporations, but the progress has been slower than would be necessary to meet SDG 8. In addition, this progress is significantly slowed down by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. |
