The analysis of the labor market from the point of view of mothers after maternity / parental leave in the Czech Republic since 2006-2020 with a focus on flexible forms of employment

The subject of the master’s thesis is the analysis of the labor market from the point of view of mothers on or after maternity / parental leave in the Czech Republic with a focus on flexible forms of employment. The theoretical part describes the labor market and its development with a focus on women, after that is introduced the theory of human capital and the essentials of maternity and parental leave are explained in more detail. Furthermore, the topic of harmonization of work and family life is discussed with a brief description of institutional education and flexible forms of work which are closely related to this. First in the practical part is an analysis of market development, focusing on the unemployment of women with young children. Further is prepared an analysis of the development of institutional childcare and selected individual flexible forms of work performance. Furthermore, are the results of a questionnaire survey. The target group of which are mothers with children under 18 years of age. The practical part ends with two semi-structured interviews with two employers who give a view on the chosen topic from a different perspective. The development of the labor market contributes to the expansion of flexible forms of work performance. The number of part-time jobs and the possibility of working from home has been growing over the years. Flexible forms of work are important mainly because they facilitate the return of women to the labor market after maternity / parental leave.
