The use of learning management systems at VSE in the post-covid era: UX perspective and opportunities

This master thesis is focused on examining the learning management systems used at VSE during the post-covid period. The pandemic forced universities to react quickly to the rapidly changing situation and shift to online learning. Students began to use other learning management systems and digital tools around this time. They adapted to a new educational style and altered their software requirements to support their educational process. In this thesis, I evaluated the used learning management systems, how students' needs for digital tools have changed, and what can be done to improve students' post-covid experience. This was accomplished through the use of Human Centred Design methods and UX principles, which place the user, the student, at the centre of the design process. The research results show the need for more flexible hybrid style education, the use of new digital tools for education management and teamwork, and the need for chats and video calls with professors. Regarding the main issues, students stated that it was difficult for professors to adapt to the new style and that they needed more training with the new digital tools. They also stated that it is the primary reason that digital tools are not being used to their full potential, which would improve the education experience. The proposed solutions for improving current students' user experience were based on the modification of problematic functions of the internal VSE - InSIS.
