Analysis and comparison of alternative indicators of economic growth in the Czech Republic in the years 2012-2022

| Abstract: | Cílem této akademické práce je, pomocí autorem použité komparativní a SWOT analýzy zjistit, zda existují jiné vhodné ukazatele hospodářského růstu. Hypotézou je tedy tvrzení, potvrzující existenci alternativních ukazatelů hospodářského růstu a jejich následnou identifikaci. Zkoumanými alternativními ukazateli jsou: HDI, Rushin index, GPI, Doing Business index, Indexy ekonomické svobody vydané od Fraser institute a Heritage foundation a index reálných cen. Analýza dokazuje, že Rushin index, indexy ekonomické svobody od Fraser institute a Heritage foundation a index reálných mezd splňují podmínky pro zařazení indexů do alternativních ukazatelů hospodářského růstu. U indexů HDI, GPI a Doing Business index byla hypotéza vyvrácena. Tato bakalářská práce neidentifikuje žádné alternativní ukazatele hospodářského růstu, které dokážou kompletně substituovat HDP při měření ekonomické výkonnosti daného státu. Na závěr autor vyvozuje doporučení pro čtenáře této akademické práce, pro další výzkum. |

| Abstract: | The goal of this academic work is to find out whether there are other suitable indicators of economic growth, using the comparative and SWOT analysis used by the author. The hypothesis is therefore a statement confirming the existence of alternative indicators of economic growth and their subsequent identification. The examined alternative indicators are: HDI, Rushin index, GPI, Doing Business index, Indices of economic freedom issued by the Fraser institute and Heritage foundation and real wage index. The analysis proves that the Rushin index, the indices of economic freedom from the Fraser Institute and the Heritage foundation, and the index of real wage meet the conditions for placing the indices in alternative indicators of economic growth. The hypothesis was disproved for the HDI, GPI and Doing Business indicies. This bachelor's thesis does not identify any alternative indicators of economic growth that can completely substitute GDP when measuring the economic performance of a given state. At the end, the author makes recommendations for the readers of this academic work, for next research. |
