| Abstract: | Ve své diplomové práci jsem se zabývala dopadem minimální mzdy na nezaměstnanost mladých lidí. K tomu využívá čtvrtletní data od začátku roku 2010 do poloviny roku 2022. Stanovená hypotéza tvrdí, že zvyšování minimální mzdy má negativní vliv na nezaměstnanost osob mladších 24 let v České republice. Zkoumala jsem to pomocí modelu vektorové autoregrese, který zahrnoval míru nezaměstnanosti, inflaci, HDP a Kaitzův index. Využila jsem k tomu dva model, jeden zkoumal krátkodobý vztah a druhý zkoumal dlouhodobý vztah mezi nimi. Moje studie došla k závěru, že minimální mzda ovlivňuje nezaměstnanost, ale její přímý vliv není jednoznačný. Což se mi potvrdilo i testováním Grangerovy kauzality. Nezaměstnanost dále ovlivňují domácí HDP a zahraniční HDP. |

| Abstract: | In my master thesis, I examined the impact of the minimum wage on youth unemployment. To do this, I use quarterly data from the beginning of 2010 to mid-2022. The hypothesis stated is that minimum wage increases have a negative effect on unemployment of people under 24 years of age in the Czech Republic. I examined this using a vector autoregression model that included the unemployment rate, inflation, GDP, and the Kaitz index. I used two models to do this, one investigated their short-run relationship and the other investigated the long-run-one. My study concluded that the minimum wage affects unemployment, but its direct effect is not clear. Which I confirmed by testing Granger causality. Unemployment is further affected by domestic GDP and foreign GDP. |
