Web system for summer camp organizers implemented using PHP framework Symfony

The popularity of summer camps is not declining and in today's digital age, most summer camp organizers have a website through which parents register their children for camp. However, providing parents with a seamless camp registration experience and letting camp organisers easily manage registrations is not so easy. The solution is the application developed as part of this thesis. The aim of this thesis was to design and implement an open-source web application for summer camp organizers that meets the needs of parents registering their children to summer camps and the needs of summer camp organizers. The web application was created based on the requirements of the reference organizer of summer camps Domino. Symfony, Doctrine, Twig, Bootstrap and Stimulus technologies were used to create the application. The application offers camp registrations, blog, photo gallery, user accounts and management of custom web pages. The main advantage over other solutions is the ability to list multiple children and contacts in a single camp registration. This makes the camp registration process faster and more convenient, as there is no need to fill in the parent's details several times and each registration requires only one payment. The application supports online payments, so it is automatically recorded in the system and the camp registration is then checked by the administrator. The application has been deployed on PaaS (Plarform as a Service) platform.sh. Subsequently, the application was tested with real users and modified according to the feedback received. The application is available on GitHub under the name Open Camp and MIT license.
