It further explores how the feelings and attitudes of respondents changed during the adaptation process, the influence of this relocation on their daily lives, the strategies employed by respondents to adjust to the new environment, and how respondents perceive themselves and the development of their identity in the context of the new environment. The ABC model is utilized, the concept of culture shock (and its phases), and proposes a new intermediary phase (busyness), showing potential relationships between 1) the attitude towards relocation and its success, 2) the relative strength of the honeymoon phase and the crisis phase. Additionally, it identifies and proposes a categorization of coping strategies in the context of expatriates. |
