ESG audit: A case study

Cílem této práce je provést ESG audit s primárním zaměřením na oblast Governance v reálné společnosti se záměrem identifikovat rizika a nedostatky v této oblasti s následným návrhem nápravných opatření. S ohledem na tento cíl je v teoretické části zpracován pojem ESG a téma auditu s postupným zaměřením na ESG audit a jeho specifika. V praktické části práce je využita Gap analýza. Pomocí této analýzy jsou porovnávány dokumenty poskytnuté společností Beneš a Lát a.s. s požadavky na zveřejnění informací pro audit pro oblast Governance. Následně je ve spolupráci se společností Beneš a Lát a.s. vypracována také dvojí úroveň významnosti. V závěru praktické části jsou shrnuty zjištěné nedostatky vyplývající z Gap analýzy a následné kroky k jejich odstranění.

The aim of this thesis is to carry out an ESG audit with a primary focus on the area of Governance in a real company with the intention of identifying risks and weaknesses in this area with the subsequent proposal of corrective measures. With this objective in mind, the theoretical part elaborates the ESG concept and the topic of the audit with a gradual focus on the ESG audit and its specifics. In the practical part of the thesis Gap analysis is used. With the help of this analysis, the documents provided by Beneš a Lát a.s. are compared with the disclosure requirements for the audit for the area of Governance. Subsequently, a double materiality level is also developed in cooperation with Beneš a Lát a.s. At the end of the practical part, the identified shortcomings resulting from the Gap Analysis are summarized as well as the subsequent steps to address them.
