Analysis and Possibilities of Generative Artificial Intelligence in Grammar Schools in the Czech Republic

The bachelor thesis deals with the possibilities and challenges associated with the use of generative artificial intelligence (GAI) in grammar schools in the Czech Republic. The aim is to find out how this technology is perceived by students, teachers and school administrators, what benefits and risks it brings to teaching and what are the key factors influencing its adoption. The thesis combines a theoretical analysis of the principles of generative AI and current trends in education with empirical research that includes a questionnaire survey of students and teachers across Czech grammar schools and a case study at a specific school. The research focuses on awareness of GAI, specific uses of GAI, attitudes towards its benefits and risks, and expectations for the future. In the practical part, quantitative and qualitative methods - electronic questionnaires and semi-structured interviews - are used to gain a comprehensive view of the issue. The questionnaires map the level of knowledge, frequency and purpose of GAI use, perceived benefits and concerns of respondents. The case study then offers a detailed insight into the experiences and attitudes at one particular high school. The thesis provides up-to-date data on the prevalence of generative AI among students and teachers, their motivations and barriers, and contributes to the discussion on the future direction of digital education in Czech secondary schools. It concludes with recommendations for secondary schools on the effective use of generative AI in secondary school teaching.
