Relocation of Business Services: Example of Offshored SAP BSCE Praha

The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze a concept of shared services centers and suggest suitable destinations for their location. Furthermore, another goal of the thesis is to investigate pitfalls arising in the process of business services relocation. The first chapter defines a concept of business services and theoretical background of their offshoring and outsourcing. It is aimed at offering broader theoretical insights of shared services industry. In the second chapter, the core of the thesis, we compare the Czech Republic with Poland, Hungary and the Philippines in terms of suitability for the shared services industry. The detailed secondary research comparing the countries is elaborated. Based on the conclusions of the secondary research in this chapter, it is obvious which country should be chosen as a destination for shared services. The last, practical part of this work defines business process relocation on a case of SAP BSCE in Prague. Further, the chapter defines how business services relocation works in reality, analyzes pitfalls of relocation and evaluates the migration of SAP's processes from a critical perspective.
