A total of 24 variables enter into the calculation of this index, which are divided into 11 sub-indicators and the calculation is therefore quite extensive. The aim of this work is to evaluate the relationships between the variables and the index and then to create a custom index. In order to evaluate these relationships, correlation analysis has been used in this thesis, based on which pairs of variables that can be related to each other have been selected. Then, after justifying this relationship, the variable without which the new index was more consistent with the original one was selected and removed from its calculation. The result is a new reduced index whose range is almost half that of the original Better life index, but whose well-being scores are almost the same as the original Better life index. |
