Due to various factors, patients may remain in healthcare inpatient facilities longer than treatment itself requires, a situation known as social hospitalization. The first part of the work consists of research in the field of elderly care, the organization of healthcare and social services in the Czech Republic, supplemented by integrated care and comparison with foreign countries. The theoretical background is followed by a combined research approach in the healthcare field, including interviews with hospital employees and quantitative analysis of the impact of social factors on the length of stay and the utilization of healthcare resources. The aim of the work is to identify the characteristics of social hospitalizations and propose measures to improve the continuity of health and social care. |
