Cílem této práce je popsat vývoj platební bilance Itálie mezi lety 2005 a 2024 a zasadit jej do souvislostí s vývojem italské ekonomiky a událostmi, které v daném období ovlivňovaly nejen Itálii, ale i zbytek světa. Časové období jsem zvolil, jelikož pokrývá několik zásadních událostí v novodobé historii. V první části zkoumaného období se tak setkáme s následky vypuknutí globální finanční krize, dále budu pozorovat dopady evropské dluhové krize a ke konci sledovaného období zahrnu pandemii COVID-19 a začátek energetické krize spojené s válkou na Ukrajině.

Abstrakt:
The aim of this thesis is to describe the development of Italy’s balance of payments between 2005 and 2024 and to place it in the context of the evolution of the Italian economy and the events that, during this period, affected not only Italy but also the rest of the world. I chose this time frame because it covers several crucial events in recent history. In the first part of the examined period, I will address the consequences of the outbreak of the global financial crisis; I will then observe the impacts of the European sovereign debt crisis, and towards the end of the period, I will include the COVID-19 pandemic and the onset of the energy crisis linked to the war in Ukraine.
